Travelling the world through collages

That moment when life is actually too busy and your to-do-list seems endless… And then you find a gem that lights up your face. My eyes took in the bold and vibrant colours, my heart could feel the passion with which these collages were created. This find just made my day… May I introduce to you the lovely work of Karen Stamper.

Karen who was born in Yorkshire and attended art college in Bradford, decided to leave the lovely British weather behind. The ten following years she spent travelling and working overseas with her sketchbook as her best travel companion… Each and every new country she visits tickles her senses. Making her feel her surroundings and letting her take in each shape, shadow and surface.
Finding inspiration in archways, doors, weathered walls, decorative motifs and the lettering of foreign lands. Karen brings back all these moods and details to her studio to create her vibrant compositions. Karen never knows how a piece will develop but that’s part of the adventure of creating…

So I will let you enjoy the work of Karen, a collector, traveller, observer and adventurer with a sketchbook in hand… Happy travels!
