Feathers and Furs Animal Close-ups

“Never end your day without learning anything.” ~ Aminoto Kosin

That’s something I strongly believe in, although I would like to add: “and have fun”. It was a lovely day, so out I went to practise with my camera. Time to learn and have fun! A nearby animal sanctuary was the perfect place to wander around and capture some feathers and furs. One because I could change my camera settings as much as I wanted and the animals would still be there. And two because of the wonderful volunteers who where happy to tell me all about the animals.

The first image of this post is of a Lady Amherst’s Pheasant. Which I had never heard of or seen before. They where introduced to Britain from China in the 19th century. The one you see in the picture is a male. Colourful with an extremely long black and white tail, greenish back, red and yellow rump and black-and-white neck ruff. That was the first thing I learned today…. The second thing I learned was, it requires a lot of patience and taking a lot (and I really mean a lot!!) of photos before I finally had some nice shots. Last but not least, don’t forget to put down your camera also and just enjoy the beauty of these animals.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I did!
